Kozhikode, also known as (Calicut) in English, is located on the shores of the Arabian Sea in North Kerala and is the 3rd largest city in Kerala. It was capital of the powerful Zamorins, the erstwhile rulers of the area and an important center of trade and commerce in the early period.
